Who's still playing this game? I was pretty burnt out by Thor which dumbed the game down to unbelievable levels, as in I end up winning too easily because everyone who spent $500 on Thor felt they must use her which removed whatever little challenge there was in PvP that didn't involve P2W, and while I can only manage about 60% win rate in a neutral X Force/The Hood mirror match and each match you got to be totally on top of your game, not beating Thor 90% of the time makes me feel like a horrible player so the game somehow become less enjoyable too. I'm hoping they release Gorgon soon or I might just cut back on the game. He's way overpowered in a subtle way and he looks totally cool too, and even if he's not overpowered I'd still use him but the fact that he's top tier in just about every aspect is nice too, except while fighting him.

I tried it, after that big thread you guys had. I don't see what is enjoyable about it...feels like any other RNG, casual mobile P2W game (albeit very polished).

On the subject of polish, I was playing Gems of War which also says 'from the creator of Puzzle Quest' and you have abilities that literally reads: "Does damage". How much damage? Who knows? I mean what's this, Bushido Blade? The devs say they're hiding this stuff to not confuse players. How about we hide the health bar too so you won't be confused as to who's winning? Is this the standard for mobile games to be measured on? When I try a mobile game it feels like they're not even pretending they're putting a decent product to get my money. It's more like 'we figure you're dumb so just hand over all the money thx'.

I still play in spurts. I really enjoyed the new event with the hands and actually it was the first time since I've been playing i took 1st in an event. After that though i have just been taking it easy. I just wish you had a bit more time between events.

Enemy of the State was a pretty well run event and having the 3 hour refresh time makes it automatically better than the 2H 24M versions. I don't know why they don't release standalone versions of these events. It'd just be like having more of the permanent story mode stuff.

Yeah the three hour refresh was great and i loved the survival missions. I agree that a lot of the older events are stale and shouldn't really be run as events anymore. I'm worried about this 3* to 4* transition they are starting. I still don't have Fury or She-Thor and usually don't rank high enough to get those covers. I'm wondering how it's gonna work.

Thor is self correcting because her best move, Power Surge, is very easily countered when attacking her if you've the right colors to benefit from charged tile. Sure sometimes she does a Power Surge and then makes an awesome cascade on her own colors but you're talking about 9 blue + a great cascade which would normally be more than enough to take you out if fighting a strong character. She's only a problem if you're stronger than she is (which my team is) but you obviously don't have to worry about that. Fury is just pretty slow in general and that big of a threat. I ran him in the Avengers event and even at level 405 I ended up dropping him for Loki instead because it takes forever to get enough AP to use his moves. I think people are way too obsessed with her Smite + Power Surge combo that can do about 10K damage without realizing that an equivalent amount of AP should be able to kill almost anyone to begin with, and this combo only works in that exact combination while plenty of two hit attacks work piecemeal. E.g. Battleplan into a Rage of the Panther is going to end the game very quickly, but even when those two are used separately it still hurts, while Smite and Power Surge used in the wrong time (which the AI will definitely do) is just a 4K hit.

To be fair Thor is quite strong when you don't take her seriously. My X Force + Loki or The Hood team has a lot of problem with her because you don't have any of her strong color to attack (red/blue/yellow) so a Power Surge, when it does hit, leaves you with very little to work.

Unfortunatly I missed out on getting Loki's green, so I can't really use him yet. What do you think of the idea of pairing him up with Patch and C Mags? It seems like a fairly nasty combination to me but might be a bit too squishy.

Patch probably goes well with Doom if you have any of his purple cover because friendly ability do not overwrite friendly traps, so Berserker Rage will not put any purple strike tiles if all purple tiles are already trapped. Even if you can't trap every tile reducing the number of purple strike tiles makes Berserker Rage incredibly powerful.

Loki is pretty much good with everyone. His purple is an all purpose AP gain move and his passive is a very strong denial move and it usually forgives any mistakes you make, but having 5 green makes a pretty big difference. Mischief slows down the opponent more than enough to compensate for his relatively low HPs, though he's not necessarily better than The Hood. However, he is more interesting to play than The Hood, and The Hood has a harder time finding the right guys to cover his colors so that he isn't exposed as much.

I just always loved the idea of using Berserker Rage and then following it up with Mischef to turn all the enemy strike tiles into friendly protects. Just seems like a combo made in heaven.

Well, that was always a good combo but Loki used to have a significantly lower level cap which makes it pretty risky. The only character who was so powerful to run him with a permanent level deficit was the 2 AP Thunderclap Ragnarok, so while Loki is good it's still not worth running a guy who used to be 25 levels lower permanently if you have any other decent options. Loki's green covers seem to be pretty hard to come by, though. I got lucky and pulled 2 in tokens on top of the 3 I won from events.
