Final Fantasy VI PC Port

So FFVI came out on PC, it's basically a port of the Android/iOS versions. You guys know the difference from the last thread for the most part:

Anyway, modders are getting their hands on it!

https://twitter.com/rivernyxx/status/681584658199412737 modding tools!

So they'll be making improvements(Or changes if you're a huge fan of the mobile's art style) over the next few months, fixing menus and such(It's literally the same interface as the phone which is kinda awful), and updating or even injecting sprites!

Some of the early attempts certainly look interesting. It'll be great to see what they can do over the next year or so. :)

I've had an itching to relay VI & VII lately. Now I'll have one more platform to play it on.

That raises the question: What is the best FF VI port? I've only ever played the SNES version (on console & emulator).

Before the PC version I would have said an emulated version of the GBA game with a patch that restored the music/battle speed.

I think with some modding the PC version will be the definitive version from here on out.

Definitely the GBA version, despite battle glitchiness (or was that FF4 GBA?) it had that extra content.

I don't remember particularly enjoying the extras on the GBA version of FF6. The GBA version of FF4 was the glitchy one, but it also had fantastic extra content, so it much more than made up for it. FF4 has no definitive version, because the DS version is also great. Now I don't want to get off on a rant here...... So I won't.

In my opinion, the original FF6 is the definitive version.

Oh for sure. The Advance releases of 4, 5, and 6 on GBA were awesome. And you can get Chinese repros real cheap on Ebay. Only the Complete of 4 on the PSP beats them in terms of quality and content for the SNES re-releases

Best versions of FF6 are the original SNES or the GBA version.

I've played the game... a lot. Like, a lot. I had milestones for what level all of my characters needed to be at by certain points of the game. I have several 'everyone is level 99 and knows all spells' completions.

I tried the Android version, and sent it back for a refund after 10 minutes. I just can't handle the graphic smoothing and the mobile controls. (controls are also the reason I refunded FF Tactics - that was a sad decision, but a decision that had to be made!)

The possible modding for the PC port is intriguing, however.

I would murder all of you for a PC Port of Final Fantasy Tactics.

The Android/iOS version is the PSP Version War of the Lions without the Slowdown. But those fucking touch controls. :(

And PC modding should fix the awful menus for FFVI as well so hang tight. :O

The only issue I have with the mobile FF6 is how they set up the interface. Touch controls work fine the way they're done with Dragon Quest games. FF6 has tons of moving parts, buttons popping up all over the screen in battles. Square's rather creative control scheme makes the interface a chore.

Eric, you mentioned FF Tactics, SAME PROBLEM!

You'd murder for an ideal FF Tactics?
...not if I kill you first!

Buddy and I had the same conversation about FFT last night. We both bought it for mobile platforms and promptly refunded it due to the terrible clunky controls.

Do mobile bluetooth gamepads work with the mobile version of FFT? I could set up an android emulator and play it on my PC then, or screen-cast it (if that works) :p
