Hello, just thought i'd post this drama that I found interesting. I randomly ran into this entire story last night and spent some number of hours digging in. Perfect for a late night post-joint (hey, i live in CO, dont judge) zoning out.

About a year ago, one of the new writers for a Magic website called Channel Fireball (CFB), James Fazzolari, was caught cheating in a large tournament, a Grand Prix, and was banned from the game for a year. Magic is pretty heavily regulated and bans the crap out of people from competitive play sometimes. I remember this guy being a writer on that site, and one who was kind of arrogant, which made his articles rather entertaining because he sometimes got into flame wars in the comments with the readers. He used to flame and post a lot on the Magic subReddits and a forum site called MTGSalvation.com, under the handle 'zemanjanski', too. I dont think he had yet won anything big in his magic career, but he had a loyal fanboy base, which i suppose is why CFB picked him up. They usually only employ writers who are in the Magic Hall of Fame, or simply very good players. I also remember wondering where he went when he stopped writing suddenly, but i had no idea he got banned from the game for cheating. Turns out, he got caught having a card in his lap and would add it to his hand.

Here is the reddit thread when he was caught and DQ'd from the tournament: https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comme ... _dqed_for/

Well, he got banned and CFB fired him. Three days ago, he posted this:

Very weird. I'm not sure if we should feel sorry for this kid, or not give a shit since he is a cheater. He is clearly still a psychopath, though, and still is attempting to seek approval from complete strangers on the Internet, albeit in a new way of trying to be humble as opposed to an asshole, like he used to be. Either way, he is very much a 'me me me' kind of person who cant just go away.

Here is a reddit thread that started after he posted that blog post, it is surprisingly positive from a community who can be very brutal to cheaters who get caught: https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comme ... t_on_what_

Anyways, Magic drama, always good stuff. :O)

I prefer the guy who got into a little trouble for going to a tournament and posing next to exposed butt cracks
