Looks really cool but that complicated boss fight is too much for me.

Announced for PC.. I watched the trailer back when you posted this thread and I thought it looked really good. But I've never really played a bullet hell game (Undertale doesn't really count).

Still this game looks cool as fuck and it getting confirmed for a Steam release is definitely a step in the direction of me actually getting to play it lol

I was wondering if that trailer was being shown on PC, cause that was a smooth as fuck 60 FPS. I guess this confirms it? Then again this is Platinum, they're pretty good at optimizing their games for 60.

I watched some gameplay of the PS4 demo and it looks goooooood. The movement is fluid and it runs spectacularly. Here's hoping for a good port.

I've taken the plunge and pre-ordered this on Steam but with it being released just a few days before Andromeda I'm not sure how much I'll play until late April/May (i.e. after I play Persona 5 to death). And if the port sucks in a way that ~1-2 months of patching won't fix I'm 100% ready for this to be the first game I refund on Steam.

There's too many goid fucking games in the first 4 months lol.

It really doesn't stop in May either with Dawn of War 3 coming in early May along with Prey. I think there's something else big coming at the end of May? And then there's the Path of Exile free 6 act expansion coming that'll probably destroy my free time for 2+ months.

But on topic with Nier, I've been having more and more trouble not watching people play this game. A bunch of people playing the PS4 JP version when it released a few weeks ago and now the honest to god PS4 release lol. I've spoiled a great deal of the tutorial for myself and I watched someone grind out the boss in the preview boss battle in the OP of this thread on hard difficulty.

So much cool shit in this game. I'm honestly kind of bummed that Andromeda and Persona 5 will probably be making me delay playing this game lol

Played the first hour of the Steam release and the port goes back and forth from acceptable to perfect so not all that bad from a company that's never done a port of one of their (real) games. This game is a lot of fun. And is arguably better than Andromeda. Just making me feel more ashamed for instantly dropping it for a few weeks to cap aliens in their asses Monday night.

Okay I'm finally putting time into this game. My opinion hasn't changed - it's fantastic. One of the endings has left my wrist and hand more sore/numb from gaming then I've ever been, though, so... fuck. Basically I was doing one of the endings (this bit took 20+ minutes) and got 90% through it and selected the wrong text prompt and had to go through it again. Super sore. At least the fight sequence to get into it was trivial when I reloaded.

The port is still a 6 or 7 out of ten though ugh.

The OST is nothing short of excellent.

I probably still listen to about an hour of the soundtrack a week but I just found someone on Youtube who put out the "unreleased" songs in the game. Basically nearly all the tracks in the game have 1+ variants, with some songs having like 20+ minutes of variants.

My favorite song has like 4 or 5 variants which definitely makes me happy lol

The full version of Possessed by Disease the guy put together is fucking magical. The unreleased soundtrack has amended my opinion on this game having a great soundtrack to quite possibly being my most favorite game soundtrack ever.

One of the producers said that this game was originally made for the PC and at one point was potentially going to be PC only.

Pretty damn surprising considering they've not patched it once in all these months despite the technical issues people have.
