Only 4 generations late, but I still like this game =)
Anyway, this Nintendo Direct announced a lot of new titles for the next six months including:
Square also announced for Switch: FF9, FFX, FF X-2, FF12, FF15 pocket (available today), The World Ends with You Final Remix, Chocobo Mystery Dungeon game, World of Final Fantasy, and Final Fantasy CC remaster and more for the future.
I hope that materializes in at least FFT, FF8, and Xenogears.
Also on the latest Nintendo Direct:
* Animal Crossing Switch
* Cities: Skylines (available today)
* Civilization 6
* Diablo 3 (with additional Nintendo based gear)
* Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (142 levels, online co-op multiplayer)
* Starlink Starfox
* Asmodee Table Top: Pandemic, Munchkin, Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game, Catan, and Carcassonne
* TOWN (a new RPG by Gamefreak, the makers of Pokemon)
* Katamari
* Capcom is remastering a bunch of classic beat-em-ups, Knights of the Round on that list.
* River City Ransom and Double Dragon are among the 20 NES launch games on the subscription service, these are among the games that IMO have aged the best from the NES era.
* Luigi's Mansion
* And something like 80 other games announced.
