<div style='font: 12pt "Times New Roman", Modern; text-align: left; '>I've been playing as The Hive, under Chairman Yang. At the beginning, I swore peace with the Spartans, who are at Vendetta with the University. As I was at relative peace, I went almost straight technology, and exploration, with just a few garrisons. Then I began to feel feisty. After a long standing relationship with the Gaians, I slowly began to tear through their piecemeal forces and territory. They were still on level 2 weaponry, while I'm cruising in there at 6. I get down to her final base(all the while her little probes are picking on me :), and she offers a slew of technology to have me spare her, and a pact to serve me. I accepted, and got her vote for the Planetary Council.
Tonight's session ended with me calling the Council, and getting elected leader 108-64 :)</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Modern; text-align: left; '>Heheheheh, in my game it was the believers, they were stuck on a very small Peninsula in my game with only 5 closely packed cities</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Modern; text-align: left; '>Just thought I'd add, Spartans, if they live and prosper somewhat past the first 100 turns, they will be the most powerful Faction in the World later on,</div>
AC is a good game, but one major flaw is the damn battles.

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion, Modern; text-align: left; '>How many battles and wars throughout history have been fought 1on1? That's right, none. So all battles fought in Alpha Centauri are pretty much purely based on technology. No chance there, you can't make up for lack of quality with quantity.. all it does is slow them down. I didn't notice this while playing the game, but once I stopped I did,, and the more I thought about it, the more it annoyed me. Guess that's why I'm playing Call to Power II :) The Inferior technology of the English *could* destroy my superior technology,, but they'd need many cannons and cavalry to destroy my tanks. At least they have a CHANCE though. Not like I'm running through a whole empire with 1 hovertank :P</div>
