This was a concept a friend of mine and I had around 10 years ago. Basically, the movie would start, somebody would say "Fight", and then there was two hours of kickass martial arts. Then the credits would roll.

The Raid: Redemption is that movie. Somebody actually made it.

Did it even hit theatres? I haven't seen a torrent for it yet

Should be one out there - it's the most seeded thing on my torrent provider that isn't a Game of Thrones episode. I just haven't felt in the mood to watch this kind of movie yet.

Apparently this got no publicity because Sony sucks and is already working on the American remake and would rather that this never have been released in North America at all. I'll get to watching it in the next few days.

Fuck them and fuck that trend. I will never watch "Let Me In" because it's a retarded name and the original is already really really good. It also didn't work for The Grudge.

People need to wake the fuck up and get used to subtitles. Hell, there isn't all that much dialogue in this movie, anyway. Just enough to prop up the story with. (No, the story isn't non-existent, but it's not the real point of the movie, either.)

Let Me In was decent as well. Worth watching for Moretz being solid. Although she isn't quite androgynous enough for a completely suitable casting, I can excuse it.. but it isn't a good trend. Rec remade into Quarantine is my big complaint in this department. I haven't seen Quarantine but Rec single-handedly reinvigorated my interest in the horror genre.

However I'm told I enjoyed Let Me In at all because I didn't see the original first, but that just sounds like hipster bullshit.

Do you know how many people didn't see Crouching Tiger unless it was dubbed? Painful. But in reality, majority of people prefer dubbed, it's just us nerds who prefer subbed

CTHD was dubbed? Could've fooled me. I saw the subbed version because I thought that's all there was. Dubbed real-life movies are horrible. Dubbed anime has gotten a lot better, but you need the right voice actors.

This is the best action movie I've seen in recent memory and definitely has the three best action scenes I've watched since the hallway hammer fight in Oldboy. I really can't think of a better compliment than that. The choreography was out of this world. The only glimmer of hope for the Hollywood remake is that they're using the same choreographers (or at least they're trying to do this, so there isn't even this much to hold out for)

Sequel is coming but it looks like production doesn't start until later this year.

This is finally going to motivate me to watch Oldboy again which is a much heavier movie. I started to re-watch it on Netflix some months ago but they had the dub up and good-fucking-lord it was a monstrosity. The kind of thing where I skipped to random bits just to see how fucked up they were. Plenty fucked up.

See...that's what I'm talking about. The movie got kickass reviews everywhere, but it sounds like nobody watched it.

This got a sequel and it's really good. Less fighting, but still a whole hell of a lot of it. The last few are brilliantly done.

I would say it's better. The added scenes built some emotional resonance into each fight that just wasn't in the original. The choreography is arguably better and the change also lets them fight in different locations as opposed to shitty run-down room after shitty run-down room.

I really loved how he
Spoiler: show
killed basically everyone important with their own weapon
Edit: Holy shit the guy from Ong-bak is rumored to be in the third Raid movie.

I really wanted to see the Raid 2 in the theater, but I just couldn't get in there. Can't wait for the Bluray drop!
