So Eric will probably have criticism of this somehow (elite PC gamer douchebag ), but I ordered this the other night:

Bit pricey (price in CAD) for what you get (in general - all gaming laptops are pricey), but it should serve me well for a while.
My only real gripe with the specs is the use of a 4th generation i7 vs. a 5th or 6th generation. However, when I looked at the benchmarks of the equivalent 5th and 6th generation CPUs compared to the 4720HQ, there is little if any difference (and in some cases the 4th gen comes out on top). Only benefit that I can see from the 6th generation is the use of DDR4 memory - not too worried about that, especially since 24GB of DDR4 is significantly more expensive than 24GB of DDR3L. This makes a difference for me, as I'll likely be topping this laptop up to 32GB of memory.
I know the new G752VT and G752VY will be coming out in November, but the prices I'm seeing on those are pretty high - not worth it for me (especially 4K screen using only a 980M). If I were to spend that much, I'd go with the MSI Titan that has two 980Ms in SLI.
I didn't buy this JUST because I wanted a gaming laptop. I need a fairly powerful 'portable' workstation for when I'm doing digital forensic consulting - being able to game on this is just a plus
