There's no definitive timeline, but filming has been delayed 9 weeks to 4 months by reports. I'm not sure what impact this will have, they are filming in Norway, New Zealand, and France. He has various leg injuries including a broken ankle.

IMO, Mission Impossible has been the best and most consistently good action series for the last 20 years. It's matched or surpassed the Bond franchise in the same time period. While is an easy argument to say Casino Royale and Skyfall are better; I would also argue that at least 4 of the 5 MI films are at least close to these in quality, and higher than the other Bond films of the period. MI2 isn't all that bad either, still being better than the majority of post-Dalton Bond films.

An interesting little fact is that Mission Impossible and Star Trek both originated with Desilu Productions, with episode 1 of each franchise occurring within a week and a half of each other in September 1966 (September 8th and 17th, 1966). Many of the cast and crew were involved with both shows, including Leonard Nimoy. Some of the musical themes appear between the two franchises. Decades later, JJ Abrams managed to become the central producer for both of the film franchises.

They left the scene with the injury in the film, you can tell he got hurt, and he actually continues running... limping, but still running along.



And, by the way, if you're into action films, MI6 is very good; perhaps even the best action film I've ever seen. As with the past MI films, and even others in the genre like the Bourne films, it intertwines action and plot; everything is always going somewhere.

While some people don't have the stomach for 3D, those that do will find this one particularly thrilling. There's a lot of depth scenes that really benefit from the effect; particularly in the third act, the chopper stuff has some of the best use of 3D I have ever seen - and of course, smoke and bullets.

From a dialogue standpoint it has a lot of "You're all special to me" type stuff that is really 70s 80s and early 90s cliche but somehow feels a little refreshing since it hasn't been done in a long time. It ties in with the theme of the film and some of them have been around for a long time - Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames for 22 years, Michelle Monaghan and Simon Peg for 12 years.

At 2.5 hours, it's longer than the other films... although it really doesn't feel like it! I find the first one feels the longest, although it's the shortest at 1 hour and 50 minutes.

There's a scene where they're in a club, and they head into a washroom for a nice brawl... yes, in a nightclub with only a few people in the washroom =P

So far my favourite film of the year, although I haven't seen many. I'm usually not big on recent action flicks because I find the action usually only serves to slow down the plot rather than progress it; and what's worse some films splice in a bunch of random slow motion (Snyder!), and most action films have a lot of formulaic and contrived storytelling (mainly Super Hero films and most of what's produced under the Disney umbrella), but MI6 was refreshing. Highly recommended, and it benefits from 3D.
