PEI and BC are both moving forward with distribution channels and laws (age 19) for purchasing.
It will be sold through government channels, similar to alcohol.
Effective July 1, 2018 (Canada's 151st anniversary)

The rest of Canada is expected to follow for the same date.

Expect to see a lot of these.

Reminds me of Junior High :P

The Government banned the drug back in the day, and now all of the private entrepreneurs and activists who made legalization possible, are now being shut out of the market in some provinces. Ontario being the worst example.

I completely disagree with the jurisdictions that aim to make cannabis sale and distribution a government monopoly.

I love my tiny and quiet bumpkin town sometimes.

News headlines were something like this:
1. Day one cannabis sales top $152,000
2. Woman finds ashes in urn purchased at thrift store
3. Local Farmer apologizes for calling the Agriculture Minister an arsehole

I was also incorrect about pricing, as I was going off the online shop; it is cheaper at the shops; per gram:

Saskatchewan: $18.99
Manitoba: $12.00
Alberta: $9.24-$15.42
New Brunswick: $8.50-$14.99
Ontario: $7.95-$13.95
British Columbia: $6.99 to $16.28
Newfoundland: $6.89 and up
Nova Scotia: $6.33-$10.99
Prince Edward Island: $5.65 and up
Quebec: $5.25

Also, my province ended up the cheapest in English Canada.

Yea, no one I know willing to pay those prices.

Black market will be well served by the tokers of Saskatchewan.

I saw on the news that it's been a mess in Saskatchewan. On top of the huge price problem (some were defending, "I guess I'm OK with it, the money is going to a good cause"), the main report coming out of the province is the army of paranoid police that will be stopping cars at strategic locations, and only 7 shops open for the entire province (for anyone in the US, Saskatchewan has the land area of Texas). On top of that, the Premier was sounding very nervous answering questions to the press saying "This is the Federal government's fault, we asked for more time! And, this is a work in progress, all will be good later!"

So there'll be hope for the future in Saskatchewan, the government is aware they screwed up.

51 shops licensed province wide, only 7 opened on first day due to lack of supply.

Hopefully prices will lower when the rest of the shops open and supply evens out (although that will likely take a while), otherwise black market will go strong here.

And while we may have the land size of Texas, we have under 1.2 million people. The top half of the province is home to very very few people.

I forgot to mention this episode of South Park that came out:

Although the primary villain was the vaping industry, making fun of how they are clearly targeting the 13 and under age bracket with the kids storyline, while Randy's storyline was much more below the belt.

I meant to eat 5 cocktail tomatoes but accidentally ate 5 regular sized ones.

What have I done???

On the bright side, I made tea.
