That's right boys and girls! I got a significant raise at work yesterday. I went from 45,000 a year to 52,500 a year. (Though 2 co-workers positions have been eliminated in the process of restructuring our company)

I bought an XBOX 360 Elite and GTA4 today and picking up a 1080 LC TV this weekend with my tax return money. >:)

I know I'm gloating but I was hit from left field with the offer, I was only expecting a small raise.

Congrats! I had the same thing happen in February; 20% raise is great... until you remember that it just put me at fair market value :(

Well, I'm sure they are going to be expecting you to develop a lot more, though. Also remember that your raise was pay for with your co-worker's salary. Can you sleep at night knowing that? :P

Well you do have to remember I live in Southern California which does have one of the highest cost of living. The median for Web Designer is actually about 55K in LA.

It sucks, but at the same time one of the people let go was a creepy asshole who we thought was a serial killer.

You are a lucky bastard, but good for you.

Hopefully I'll be making myself a bit more valuable to my company as I am taking my 70-291 tomorrow and then the 70-270 at the end of May.

I will be MCSA certified by the end of May. Then it's 5 more tests (4 MS 1 CompTIA).

Hoping I can get that by the end of the year. Somewhere in there though I need to get my Citrix 4.5 certification.

Thank god I have my server 2003 certs for life, this next round of MS certifications of getting certified every 5 years is going to BLOW FUCKING ASS!
