Classic Sonic gameplay(making the physics more like the classic games) in Sonic 4. But oh hey, the game doesn't look like shit.

I don't know, I thought Maverick Hunter X looked pretty fucking good. And had full anime cut-scenes that were different for two separate charcaters and an entire 22 minute unlockable storyline anime ep to go with it. That (and Powered Up) failed sales-wise, hence they went the MM9 route.

Maverick Hunter X looks like some kind of weird mix of psuedo 3D graphics. Megaman Powered Up graphics looks way too kiddy. It's true Megaman isn't a hardcore game but it was never that childish either. While Vile wasn't a bad character, there are many characters who are way ahead of him in the coolness factor in the Megaman Universe, so it was just mostly wasted effort.
