Standing - I expect Lesnar to shoot for a takedown when he sees an opening, he is a good wrestler, but I think if it stays standing, he will end up in a lot of trouble as Overeem is devastating in the clinch.

And Overeem can throw, he did it a TON in kickboxing matches, but also throws in MMA matches. Overeem does have a significant amount of grappling experience.

Lesnar has takedowns

Overeem almost certainly won't keep his hands down like Herring did, but just to demonstrate that Brock can strike, and has the potential to KO people.

Overeem can do the same

On the ground, Overeem certainly is much more devastating

So in my estimation, Overeem has the clear advantage in this fight, he also has finished 29 fights in the first round, while Lesnar has won 5 fights period. Experience is a major asset that Overeem has over Lesnar. Still, I fully expect this fight to be competitive and exciting, and both fighters have the tools to end it.

I agree 100%, things lean twords Overeem but Lesnar is freakish in how good his wrestling is. If he shoots early and doesnt try to stand with the guy he has a good chance of pulling off the upset by taking him down and finishing him. As a big pro wrestling fan as well, I gotta root for Lesnar in this one.

Lesnar weighed in at 266, Overeem weighed in at 263. Interesting enough, Overeem had a grin on his face during the staredown (they are fairly silly things that they do for promotional stuff) - Overeem gave a statement, Lesnar left the building before giving a statement of his own.

Overeem had a fairly calm attitude at the press conference, he stated he had no emotions towards Brock, and that he was excited to fight and predicts a round 1 win. Overeem seemed to regret that he got pulled from the Strikeforce GP (which he wanted to win before heading to the UFC), but said that the UFC was a logical goal for him since he would have beaten everyone else outside of the UFC.

Lesnar seemed to get miffed at reporters suggesting he was the underdog.

Overall, I think these are two guys that have received a huge amount of negative criticism on the Internet for various reasons - both get heavily accused of steroid usage due to their size - for all that they have achieved in light of this, they are two of the most underrated top tier fighters out there.
