That's what really brought it home to me that yes, we are going to get the entirety of the Xenogears Saga...I hope...well at least Chapter 1. It's also nice to know that the "Chapter V" at the end of Xenogears actually had a meaning and wasn't just tacked on for the hell of it. The writer had a vision and is getting the chance to see it through.
The one I'm really waiting for is Chapter IV though. Lacan/Grahf was by far the most interesting Fei incarnation touched upon in Xenogears. Even though you kinda know how it plays out, you still want to play it out yourself.
And to top it all off, Yasunori Mitsuuda is doing the score with a full orchestra. Having just recently purchased Zenogears:Creid, you have no idea how happy that makes me. He's definitely the best game music composer out there right now.
I'm trying to keep my exposure to chapter 1 at a minimum but it's hard when you're this into something. Xenogears really moved me and I'm very happy it will be completed. I really like all the designs I've seen so far, the characters, the gears...it all works for me. KOS-MOS may be a bit too "Rei" but hey, have we already forgotten that Xenogears was also a massive tribute to all kinds of anime and sci-fi within it's own unique storyline. I certainly expect them to carry that tradition on. Take it for what it is, not for what you think it is. Originality is overrated and when you try to be too original, you end up with a mess. Dish out those doses of originality sparingly...its better that way.
And now I've wandered off course. To sum up...Xenosaga looks good...criticisms lame...be patient and have a nice day.</i></div>

The creators plan on releasing all the chapters, 1 through 6, and will include a re-make of 5 (Xenogears). They were disappointed with the way Xenogears turned out on PSX because they weren't able to do what they had originally planned with it.
Chapter 1 will deal with the creation of Deus, the discovery of Zohar and the Wave Existence, Fei and Elly's original incarnations, and will likely end the way that Xenogears began with the Eldridge crashing on the planet where Xenogears took place. It most definitely is a prequel, and there will be 4 more before they get to the point where Xenogears took place, and apparently 1 more after that according to the creators. Remember all the flashbacks Elly and Fei had of past lives where they lived together and Elly always dies? Those will be the stories told in full for each chapter.
Head over to the GIA if you really wanna spoil it for yourself (the pic of Fei's 1st incarnation is there). It's definitely a prequel, a shitload of prequels. I may be even more jacked then when I heard about the Star Wars prequels...this was what I was hoping for since the first time I finished Xenogears and saw that "Chapter V" come up...
All that and a full orchestral soundtrack by Mitsuda...makes ya think twice about that whole atheism schtick...or maybe not...</i></div>
