Well, I considered that maybe they were married for purely legal reasons, like tax breaks, living together, etc. This site is amusing and proof that I'm not crazy in thinking that there's some confusion between the two "titles".

Nevermind, she's the ex-wife and Jack took her surname. Apparently, reporters aren't very good at actually reporting the facts.
