I'm playin' FF13 and I get the same feeling on a semi-regular basis :-)Lox wrote:Playing God of War 3. It's pretty darn challenging on Titan mode. I'm at a point that makes me want to smash my controller soooo much.
Yeah, I can certainly see how you can easily get burned out with FF13. I just hit Gran Pulse so it's opened up a bit (I hope). But it was really a chore up to that point.RentCavalier wrote:Burnt out with FFXIII, I've started up Devil Summoner 2 again. And it is awesome. Also still chugging along on SOTN and Shadow Complex, though I could beat the latter really quickly--I just wanna get 100% and some of the last powerups are a biiiiitch.
But the music and gameplay is still fucking sweet! Hell, I still have a hard time finding good music like that. FF13's song are not bad, but they repeat too much, so I get bored with them. Odin Sphere (and Okami) was probably the last game where I was overly impressed with the soundtrack.Zeus wrote:I just got the Konami Classics Collection and I popped SotN in. Man, that game hasn't aged overly well.....
Sazh's theme is so techno-porn it's nuts!SineSwiper wrote:I like techno-porn music, as you so abusively call it.
Sure they do. When you were playing with only Sazh and Vanille, you heard his theme all the time.SineSwiper wrote:I didn't think anybody had a "theme".
Liar. I have the soundtrack now, and neither person's theme is anywhere near "techno porn".Zeus wrote:Sure they do. When you were playing with only Sazh and Vanille, you heard his theme all the time.SineSwiper wrote:I didn't think anybody had a "theme".
It really is a GTA western. Pretty neat gameChris wrote:REEEEED DEAAAAD REDEMPTION when I'm not working. Totally amazing game.

The AI is dumb as rocks. I've watched them shoot in the air, lose me around the corner and rush me with that stupid deke from a mile away. 99% of the game is doable with any weapon, the problem is the couple of boss fights (that more or less require an assault rifle over normal). Stealth+melee is overpowered everywhere else (thanks to the stupid AI again). Gameplay gets repetative, graphics are poor, item/skill upgrading is shallow.Shrinweck wrote:The game play is fine most of the time. People just gotta bitch if it isn't consistently perfect. I just wish they'd been given the proper resources to make it better. I think Chris Avellone is doomed to getting dicked over by the man.
I think a lot of the complaints stem from people picking the recruit class and not being able to figure out that that means you're going to be totally useless and shitty for the first part of the game until you get some levels under your belt. It's a shooter RPG, if you don't have skill points in a gun you're going to be missing the broad side of a barn.

Oh for sure. I'm wondering if anyone will raise a stink over this fact considering the game would be banned everywhere if it was the other way aroundEric wrote:Sold.kali o. wrote: the fact that you can be raped by a women is worth the rental alone.
There's "Dumb AI" where they leave a few holes in their defense that you can take advantage of, and then there's "Dumb AI" where you can effortlessly walk up to somebody and stab them in the face over and over and over.Shrinweck wrote:In their defense, shooter RPGs usually require dumb AI so you CAN fool them. That was half the fun of Deus Ex.
Ditto. Just updated my video drivers, and already installed the game.Louis wrote:3) Starcraft II - Starting tomorrow (7/27/2010) when I pick up my copy. Probably just the single player campaign till I finish it. Possibly multiplayer depending on how bad I embarrass myself.
